Parking at Hospitals
There are a great deal of accidents that occur within different parking conditions normally due to the extra hazard of pedestrians.
However, the places you park your car can also cause serious hazards to other drivers.
Here are some instructions on how to park your car safely
Parking at Hospitals
If you have to park close to a hospital, follow these simple rules:
Do not park your vehicle within 50 meters (165 feet) of the front of the hospital entrances as all hospital entrances need to be kept clear for easy access.
Make sure, if parking within the hospital car park, that you park straight and correctly within the allotted parking bays to maximise the number of cars that can use the car park.
If there are no parking spaces available within the official car park, make sure that where ever you park poses no problems of access for emergency vehicles. Ambulances require access 24 hours a day to the hospital entrance in case of emergencies.
Ensure you reduce your speed around hospitals and be aware of pedestrians.
Be respectful to other motorists and pedestrians. Emotions run high around hospitals, so be calm and patient.
If you are waiting to pick up or drop off somebody, always turn off your engine while stationary to reduce the pollution |
