There are a great deal of accidents that occur within different parking conditions normally due to the extra hazard of pedestrians.
However, the places you park your car can also cause serious hazards to other drivers.

Parking Restrictions
You must not park on:
the carriageway or the hard shoulder of a motorway except in an emergency | |
a pedestrian crossing, including the area marked by the zig-zag lines | |
yellow lines during the times of operation shown on nearby time plates | |
school or hospital entrance markings | |
a road marked with double white lines, except to pick up or set down passengers |
